Savoy Hotel

Background

This prime location building that covers a large area has undergone major renovation both externally and internally.

Detail of works by Stone Restoration Services

SRS where appointed by Geoffrey Osbornes Limited to design and install the Portland stone for  a new top floor to the front elevation. This included the expertise of our in-house detailing team and stone drawing production. From these templates and moulds were created to allow the accurate cutting and masoning of the cladding and window surrounds.

Our masons then fixed the new stonework units into position and this included the installation of stainless-steel support and restraint fixings and insulation materials.

Works to the original façades included cleaning to stone and brick to remove biological growth, water staining and carbon/sulphur deposits. Glazed bricks were repaired and replaced and paint removal was sympathetically undertaken to areas of the existing masonry.

Internally we supplied and installed large lightweight Travertine cladding panels to the new reception that were specially selected for their colour and veining. This is the feature area for the whole refurbishment and is very impressive.
