Background
Christchurch Spitalfields was designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor and built between 174-1729 During the 20th Century the building fell into disuse however in 1976 the Friends of Christchurch Spitalfields were founded to restore it (www.christchurchspitalfields.org)

- External cleaning – sympathetic conservation techniques were used to ensure no damage to the existing stone
- Restoration of the Portico – which was in danger of collapse
- Supplied and fixed Yorkstone paving in rectory yard
- Supplied and fixed new Portland plinths
- Repair internal columns and pilaster pedestals
- Removed – repaired and re-fixed existing limestone steps
- New External Limestone steps – including a new disabled access
- 700m2 Internal Purbeck floor created from different beds of stone to ensure sympathetic restoration to the era of the church.. The detailed CAD drawing for the floor were created in house to ensure the precise dimensions for cutting of the 3000 stones
- Paint removal from walls using Jos system
- Memorial restoration
